What this claims to be
A short editorial question in a fixed order: a written situation, one binary commitment, an acknowledgment of the position you took, a reveal, one reconsideration, a boundary, and a way into the essay the question belongs to.

What it asks of you
Nothing before you begin. There is no account, no email address, no name, no age declaration and no acceptance step of any kind.

What is measured

There is no camera access, no microphone access, no cursor tracking and no device fingerprinting. The question does not know whether it is being read by the same person twice.

The return loop, and why it exists
There is none. The question cannot recognise a returning browser or person and cannot change because somebody came back. Every visitor is shown the same situation, the same two positions, the same reveal and the same boundary.

The question makes no empirical claim of its own. The claims about machine memory that it stands on belong to the essay it links to, which carries its own public source note stating what the evidence is and where it stops.

Limitations
One question is an encounter, not a finding. It isolates a single design problem — whether a remembered fact should remain active until it is corrected, or lose authority unless it is reaffirmed — and it is not evidence about how anyone behaves, how common either position is, or which is right.
Changing your answer after the reveal shows that the argument moved you in this one case. It does not show that you are open-minded, and keeping your answer does not show that you are not.
Nothing here tells you how anyone else answered, because nothing about anyone else is collected in this release.

v1.0 — 18 September 2026, the version that now binds. The first register for Open Question 01, issued under Ontwerpwet 4 with the object’s first public release. No answer is transmitted or stored server-side, and no public aggregate is produced. The interaction holds a binary first answer and a three-way reconsideration, which is the shape the publication’s ratified participation architecture would later be able to count; that is a property of the design and not an announcement. Counted participation on a public surface requires a separate explicit decision that has not been taken, and would require a new version of this register before anything could be counted.
